Samsung Galaxy S3 Vs iPhone 5 ! This year we will have alot of Surprises about phones like iphone 5 [in WWDC 2012], ipad 3 [in March], iPad 4 [in October] andGalaxy S III, a few days ago We talked about Samsung Galaxy S III Release Dateand We say to you the Samsung has confirmed to TechRadar that the Galaxy S3, its much-hyped successor to the S2, won’t be appearing at MWC 2012, also We say to you the iPhone 5 to Be Released in WWDC 2012 , today we weill show to you a Comparison Between Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5
Design – iPhone 5 Vs. Galaxy S3
iPhone 5 – The design of the iPhone 5 has remained a total mystery. Though no credible sources have had anything to say about the design of the iPhone 5, an interpretation of Steve Jobs’ biography seems to suggest that the iPhone 5 is going to have a new form factor. Some say that the iPhone 5 is going to have a curved glass display and also have a screen that runs from edge to edge, much like how the Mac Air Book is designed. The rumors about the iPhone 5 design also suggest that the iPhone will get a snazzy looking metal back.
Galaxy S3 – With the Galaxy S3, Samsung is expected to carry on with the highly plastic design. However, there have been some indications that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be thinner than the Galaxy S2. Considering that the Galaxy S2 is just .3 inches thick, the S3 is definitely going to have a wow factor if it manages to be thinner than the Galaxy S2.
Winner – iPhone 5! – We think the iPhone 5 is going to win this category as the iPhone has always had the edge over the Galaxy phones, when it comes to build quality and design. The plastics used in the iPhone just look a lot more expensive than the Galaxy’s choice of materials. Also, remember that Samsung pretty much ripped off the design of the iPhone and are still fighting a pretty big copyright infringement case in court. For that reason alone, we would award the iPhone 5 as the winner in the design category.
Performance levels -iPhone 5 Vs. Galaxy S3
iPhone 5 – The iPhone 5 is expected to get a revolutionary quad core processor that will be called the A6 processor. The clock speed is expected to be 1GHz. Also, sources close to Apple have indicated that the iPhone 5 will be the first iPhone that will have 1GB of RAM. It is about time Apple brought about this important change, when it comes to RAM.
Galaxy S3 – If you thought a quad core processor would be hard to beat, think again. The Samsung Galaxy S3 could be getting a even more ridiculous 1.4GHz quad core processor. What is even more impressive is the fact that the Galaxy S3 is rumored to be receiving 2GB of RAM!
Winner – Galaxy S3! – Though we think that both processors are going to be over kill for a smartphone, we juts have to hand it to the Galaxy S3 on this one, as a 1.4GHz processor with 2GB of RAM just sounds so irresistible and insanely powerful.
Memory – iPhone 5 Vs. Galaxy S3
iPhone 5 - It looks like Apple is going to stick with the same stubborn principle of not including an expandable memory card slot in the iPhone 5. So, the iPhone 5 is going to be available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions, much like the iPhone 4S.
Galaxy S3 -The Samsung Galaxy S3 is going to be offered as a 16 or 32GB model and will also feature an expandable memory card slot that can take up to a 32GB SD card. Also, it is rumored that Samsung might install a 16GB SD card before shipping out the Galaxy S3. So, you could essentially be getting at least 32GB in storage space, right out of the box, when you buy the Galaxy S3.
Winner – Galaxy S3! – We don’t really have to explain this as it is so obvious. One of the biggest pet peeves that iPhone users have had about the iPhone has to do with expandable memory. But, Apple doesn’t look like it is going to budge in its stance against expandable memory.
Display – iPhone 5 Vs. Galaxy S3
iPhone 5 - Though there is a lot of confusion about the iPhone 5 screen size, rumors about the display in the next generation iPhone suggest that the iPhone 5 screen is going to be even better than the retina display screens that have been used in the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S. Currently, the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S use about 330 pixels per square inch, in terms of pixel density. The iPhone 5 is expected to have a display that that will have an amazing 350 pixels packed into one square inch. The iPhone 5 might be an OLED screen or an IGZO screen, depending on which rumors are right.
Another special feature of the iPhone 5 screen is that it is expected to be a lot more power efficient than current generation smartphones.
Galaxy S3 – The Samsung Galaxy S3 screen is rumored to be a Super AMOLED Plus screen, with 720 p resolution. It is also rumored that the Galaxy S3 will get a massive 4.5 inch screen. Samsung have clearly indicated that they have seen a liking for large screen phones and want to pursue that market. But, the larger screen size will mean that the Galaxy S3 screen will only have 330 pixels per square inch, as it is very difficult to have high pixel density on a larger screen.
Winner – iPhone 5! – We have to hand it to the iPhone 5 in this category. Even though the iPhone 5 screen size is going to be smaller than the Galaxy S3?s screen size, the higher pixel density and more efficient power consumption look more appealing than the Galaxy S3?s screen. But, we have a feeling that some might disagree with this verdict as there are many that will prefer a large screen, even if pixel density is compromised just a little bit. The iPhone 5, being a winner in this category, is going to be even more controversial if people get an iPhone 5 with a screen that remains at 3.5 inches! We picked the iPhone as the winner assuming that the iPhone 5 screen size will be at least 4 inches.
Camera – iPhone 5 Vs. Galaxy S3
iPhone 5- There have been some indications that the iPhone 5 will get a 3D camera. But, considering that 3D cameras have only got a very lukewarm response from the cell phone crowd, we doubt if 3D camera technology will indeed be included in the iPhone 5?s camera. Our gut feeling is that the iPhone 5 will have the same camera that is featured in the iPhone 4S. The camera will probably just get some enhancements on the software side, with the addition of a panoramic shot mode being one of them.
Galaxy S3 – The Galaxy S3 seems to have much bigger plans in the camera department. Industry sources have said that the Galaxy S3 is going to be a recipient of an awesome 12 MP camera, with Carl Zeiss optics. If the picture quality of the Samsung Galaxy S2 is anything to go by, the 12MP upgrade on the Galaxy S3 is just going to make the Galaxy’s camera all the more desirable.
Winner – Galaxy S3! – Though the iPhone 4S has a brilliant camera, we think the Galaxy S3?s camera is going to top it as it is being upgraded to a 12MP shooter. The rumors say that even the front facing camera on the Galaxy S3 will be capable of 720p HD video capture! Do we need to say more?
OS – iPhone 5 Vs. Galaxy S3
iPhone 5 – The iPhone 5 is most definitely going to run on iOS 6, Apple’s next version of its very popular operating system. iOS 6 is expected to have a few notable additions and enhancements. Among them are the inclusion of iMaps, Apple’s own mapping and navigation system. If that were to be true, the iPhone 5 will make use of a mapping system that will not rely on Google maps. Apple are tipped to be using a company called C3 to develop high resolution 3D maps that make Google maps look quite ordinary.
Another major upgrade in the iOS 6 has to do with Siri. Apparently, Apple are working very hard to make Siri even more versatile. There are the bug fixes too. Rumor has it that Siri will work in a lot more countries and with a lot more languages, when the iPhone 5 is rolled out.
Galaxy S3 – The Galaxy S3 is going to receive the Ice Cream Sandwich OS, the latest release Android OS. Ice Cream Sandwich, as you might know, is a much more user friendly OS than its Android predecessors like Gingerbread and Froyo.
Winner – iPhone 5! – Though Ice Cream Sandwich is great, we think that the scales are tipped in favor of the iPhone 5, because iOS 6 looks promising with the iMaps feature and an advanced version of Siri. Though Siri has had a lot of problems in the iPhone 4S, we are confident that Apple will be able to iron things out. We like the iOS 6 over Ice Cream Sandwich simply because iOS 6 is going to be new and exciting when the iPhone 5 comes out, whereas ICS is already going to be a little outdated by the time the Galaxy S3 is rolled out.
The X Factor – iPhone 5 Vs. Galaxy S3
iPhone 5 - The iPhone has always had an X factor when it is released. With the original iPhone, it was the brand new touch screen functionality. With the iPhone 4, it was the retina display. With the iPhone 4S, it was the virtual assistant in Siri. So, what would be the X-factor for the iPhone 5? If Apple’s recent patent filing history is anything to go by, the iPhone 5?s X factor could be an advanced facial recognition system.
The patents submitted by Apple seem to suggest that they are developing a facial recognition technology that will allow the iPhone 5 user to unlock their iPhone with just a momentary glance, at a certain angle in front of their face. Apple have even hinted that the slide to unlock feature might be eliminated, as the facial unlock is so fool proof and convenient that it can possibly replace all other forms of unlocking the iPhone.
Galaxy S3 – With the Galaxy S3, there have been no indications that the S3 will include something that will wow people. Though Galaxy phones have been very good until now, they just haven’t had an X-factor.
Winner – iPhone 5! – We had to give it to the iPhone 5 as advanced facial recognition technology sounds awesome. We mean, the technology could actually be smart enough to detect attention levels! At least that is what the Apple patent says. If it can be feasibly included in the iPhone 5, it would be a hard phone to beat for the Galaxy S3 or any other smartphone for that matter.
Conclusion – iPhone 5 Vs. Galaxy S3
As you can see from the comparison above, the iPhone 5 manages to come out a winner, with a 4-3 count. Though it seems to have the edge over the Galaxy S3, we have to say that the advantage is not that very significant. Also, remember that this comparison is based on rumors and news that we have heard and seen so far. Both products could be entirely different in specs and in terms of features, when they are eventually released.
What a apple fan boy comment!!
ReplyDeleteApple design is boring and lousy build and bad design, it won't survive from severe drop, check @ Youtube and you will know how the Samsung plastic build still far better.
Apple always rely on Samsung to supply some parts for them to complete their phone. Screen and processor! Forever they will stuck at the Retina LCD technology. Nowadays TV screen size is getting bigger and bigger for more comfortable viewing. 3.5" is just too small for comfort zone for viewing, what a pity!! Most phone makers are producing bigger and bigger screen but apple still want to stuck at 3.5" for finer PPI until our human eye can't notice this kinda of fine details. Is it worth to clamp more pixel in inch?
IOS is fast because it is design for their low performance hardware, the ashame part of IOS that user should hate the ridiculous way they lock and limit user to transfer their own files. The boring outlook of the IOS will never change, reason given for user friendly & easy to use. Actually it is for the user who is not willing to challenge their life, it is a lame excuse. Won't it be so boring to put few same IPhone and the screen info looks similar at a glance? Customising the home screen still benefit user to access their favourite program and info to be display as individual prefer.
When is the release date of the iPhone 5? I think you can't compare the Galaxy S3 with a non-existing phone.
