Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Unboxing

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is the most powerful tablet at the moment, since it sports a hardcore quad core Exynos CPU inside and 2GB of RAM. It has just arrived to our HQ for testing purpsoes and we’re already fascinated by it. Codenamed the N8000, this product is priced at $499 in the 16 GB WiFi version and it gets unboxed by us in the video below.
Launched in August internationally, this product was showcased at MWC 2012 earlier this year, but back then it only had a dual core CPU and 1 GB of RAM. This unit measures 8.9 mm in thickness, weighs 600 grams and features a PLS TFT display with a 10.1 inch diagonal and 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. The device’s box offers you an USB cable, charger and a pair of headphones that look really nice. On the side of the slate you’ll find its stylus slot and the new stylus, that’s bigger and thicker than the one of the Galaxy Note 1.
The device supports HSDPA 21 Mbps connectivity and it also has infrared, allowing it to control TV sets and other gadgets around the house. At the back there’s a 5 megapixel camera that we’ll test in the following days. The OS of choice here is Android 4.0.3 skinned with TouchWiz and under the hood there’s a Li-Ion 7000 mAh battery. Preinstalled on this product you’ll find PhotoShop Touch and a bunch of other goodies that we’ll reveal in the full review. We’ll be back in a few days with more details.

Samsung Launches The New Galaxy Note 2

Finally, after the long Apple vs. Samsung trial, Samsung got a chance to again concentrate on its upcoming products and thus on Wednesday, it took the stage at the annual IFA show in Berlin, Germany, to dive a glimpse of the new new Samsung device. This unveiling ceremony of the Galaxy Note 2, is one of those events that are coming in the first week of September to compete Apple. Lets check out the dazzling and mind-blowing features that Samsung introduced to prove its ideas unique and completely authorized.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Design

The lavishing and aesthetic design of the phone gives an idea that it is going to give a strong competition to the fruit company. This successor of the Galaxy Note is having an internal functioning like a smartphone while its appearance is like a note, sleek and elegant.
Its first look is really attention grabbing and is completely overcoming the previous Galaxy Note. The Galaxy Note 2 is not particularly large as compared to the previous one but is longer and seems much more powerful and massive. This new reveal of Samsung has a 5.55-inch AMOLED screen (1280×720) that is diagonally wider than the previous Galaxy Note, which was 5.3 inches. The wide-screen 16:9 aspect ratio makes your experience of visual apps out of this world.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 S Pen

Moving on, the device has a simply beautiful look: the large screen almost covering the entire front, a tiny home button at the bottom and few apertures on the top.
Now lets move on to the sleek and stylish S Pen of the phone. The tiny operator gives you the idea that the input of the phone is as powerful as the phone itself and promotes multitasking in all aspects. The fully loaded pen even doesn’t need a complete touch, rather it fully works as a physical laser pointer. The S Pen can further be used to scribble some text on the images you want to make a memorable forever.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Specifications

Another fascinating part of the phone that was displayed in the event was its multitasking, by playing videos and browsing the pages and other documents simultaneously. This made the device like a PC and brought it to a superior level. Samsung not only this time brought some unexpected features to the surface through its smart phone inscribed note but also a useful and helpful device for the bloggers with its Screen Record. Through which they can record all the happenings on their screen, from videos, audio to pen markings and then you can save it as a video file. This will make demonstration videos extremely easy.
Now lets jump to the performance of this aesthetic phone that seems to be extremely lavishing. The 1.6GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos processor, 4.8-inch HD LCD display, built-in Wi-Fi 3G, a large 2GB RAM, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, everything in a single package than what you want! Moreover Galaxy Note 2 is also loaded with a 8Mp rear camera and 2Mp front camera. But when talking about power how can we forget the battery, so the phone is powered by a  3,100mAh battery and it is hoped that it will not be dead soon because of its power consuming features.

OfficialiPhoneUnlock VS Applenberry

Best Factory Unlocks for iPhone 5.1.1
If you have been following us since the past few weeks, we informed about a company called OfficialiPhoneUnlock.
It is the first company that won our trust, and we have tested their iPhone unlock service and recommend them highly. There are satisfied readers who have posted their reviews about this great factory unlock service as well. Read on for more details!

OfficialiPhoneUnlock Customer Reviews:

  • Irvin Rivas from Fontana, US:I bought my iPhone from eBay, and it was locked to the At&T carrier. I was searching for an unlock solution. I browsed various forums and websites. Finally, i found this service and IT WORKED. My iPhone is factory unlocked and i am a very happy iPhone user.
  • Richard Sims from Waterloo, GB: Telus in Canada said that there was no unlock possible after 90 days of leaving their service. I was angry and started searching for a good service, I found this company, and they took 2 days to unlock my iPhone. This was all that mattered to me. Thank you very much!
All this is well and good. But there is someone else offering the unlock service as well. 3 weeks ago, ApplenBerry came out on the scene with a factory unlock offer. However, the cost is not something that would make you satisfied. Their AT&T unlock is for $150! Are they kidding?
ApplenBerry, have heard about them before. They are best known for selling their famous GEVEY SIMs. But do you remember the SAM unlock solution. Yes! ApplenBerry made a copy of the SAM unlock solution and started selling Gevey SIMs that would unlock the iPhone 4 baseband. However, the SAM unlock solution was free, while they were charging for the same thing. Later on, when Apple patched the SAM unlock solution, their Gevey SIM for iPhone 4 baseband 4.11.08 no longer worked, and what they did to the people came out clearly. Read more here.

Apple’s market value now $620 billion, becomes most valuable company

It might take a big pessimist to say that Apple’s stock prices will fall; the share prices of the fruit company have been rising since the past few months over the increased speculation of the new iPhone. Moreover there is speculation of new iDevices coming out such as the iPad mini and the new iPod which also contributed to the 8% increase in share prices and a 2.3% increase in the last few days.

Apple’s price per share now stands at $662.73 which doesn’t seem that extraordinary but what is really a big milestone is the fact that the market value of Apple has become $620 billion and that just set a world record for being the most valuable company of all time. This certainly isn’t such good news for Microsoft as Apple has surpassed by on numbers as well.
In 1999, Microsoft had a market price of $619 billion, and taking inflation into account it would stand at around $840 billion. It’s no secret that the rise in share prices is due to the recent interest in Apple and their new iPhone’s launch being just a month away. Even history shows us that Apple’s stock prices always increase amid speculation of new products.
Come the new iPhone this September, analysts speculate that a number of factors could negatively affect the stock price of the company. This could be due to the inability to produce components to meet up with supply as Apple has had trouble with their supply chain in the past and it might just happen again. Its big news that Apple is stated as the most valuable company ever and let’s just hope that the introduction of their new devices turns out to be the best for them.

The iPhone makes more money than every Microsoft product put together

You all must have heard something or the other about the mini iPad, and also the physical Apple television set rumors! And let’s not forget the Samsung and Apple controversies as well. It seems that the iPhone isn’t going to leave the limelight anytime soon and there’s a lot of hype a lot of talk as there’s a lot of speculation going around. This certainly works in the interest of Apple as this kind of interest really hypes up things and makes people really yearn for the next generation iPhone.

Now Apple doesn’t just make the iPhone, they have a variety of iDevices and their beloved Macs have a cult following of their own. But what may really jump out and surprise you is the fact that iPhone alone generates a higher sales than the total of all Microsoft’s products and services!
Now if that was said in relation to some other company it would have been believable, but this is Microsoft we are talking about! A company that has been around for decades! They have their MS Office, their operating system, mobile phone OS, their Xbox, and they have their own search engine as well! This news is not from any third party or an unreliable source, in fact the source for this story is Forbes. And they made this comparison keeping in mind all of Microsoft’s products that have been made since 1975!
The following is an excerpt from their article:
“One Apple product, something that didn’t exist five years ago, has higher sales than everything Microsoft has to offer. More than Windows, Office, Xbox, Bing, Windows Phone, and every other product that Microsoft has created since 1975. In the quarter ended March 31, 2012, iPhone had sales of $22.7 billion; Microsoft Corporation, $17.4 billion. ”
This seems quite hard to digest but the figures are out there. In the first financial quarter of 2012, iPhone shipped units to bring sales revenue of $22.7 billion, while Microsoft brought in $17.4 billion. However, do keep in mind that the iPhone is one product that costs a good deal of money, whereas Microsoft has multiple products and some are cheap while others are expensive, but still, the iPhones sales being more than Microsoft’s total revenue is somewhat appalling! What are your thoughts?

Apple May Release iOS 5.1.2 To Fix SMS Spoofing

Apple May Release iOS 5.1.2 To Fix SMS Spoofing
Apple reply on Pod2g’s report here’s what the Apple representative said:
Apple takes security very seriously. When using iMessage instead of SMS, addresses are verified which protects against these kinds of spoofing attacks. One of the limitations of SMS is that it allows messages to be sent with spoofed addresses to any phone, so we urge customers to be extremely careful if they’re directed to an unknown website or address over SMS.
Now we can say that Apple has no solution to fix this SMS spoofing because this is the responsibility of the carrier. Moreover, SMS spoofing can affect any device, any carrier regardless of OS, Model and even the carrier.
So, Absinthejailbreak.com recommended readers to take care of the unknown numbers and unknown links and be careful during the messaging from standard text messaging app.
Also we can say that Apple is preparing now for a new iOS we think that it will be iOS 5.1.2 in order to patch this SMS spoofing before releasing iOS 6 as Pod2g confirmed that SMS spoofing is still there in iOS 6 beta 4.

Apple replies to SMS vulnerability, urges people to use iMessage instead

Apple replies to SMS vulnerability, urges people to use iMessage instead
Yesterday, we reported about a dangerous SMS flaw in the iPhone that was first pointed out by the famous iOS hacker pod2g. Basically, someone could theoretically change the reply-to number in the SMS message that you receive, without you even knowing. Furthermore, someone can send a fully spoofed message that shows a completely different number than the one being used.
Pod2g noted that this bug has been here since the original first-generation iPhone and is still present in iOS 6 beta 4. Apple released an official statement on the issue today:
"Apple takes security very seriously. When using iMessage instead of SMS, addresses are verified which protects against these kinds of spoofing attacks. One of the limitations of SMS is that it allows messages to be sent with spoofed addresses to any phone, so we urge customers to be extremely careful if they’re directed to an unknown website or address over SMS."
Apple blames the vulnerability on the SMS protocol and urges us to use iMessage (which is indeed safer) instead. We recommend that you’re always cautious when using SMS and to try and use other methods when sending important or private information.

iPhone 5 Pre-orders To Begin September 12

People have been looking for a specific date for the launch of the iPhone 5. And today we have got a new report which confirms that Apple ‘s next-generation iPhone will be introduced in Apple media event on September 12, that’s not all also the report says that the handsets will become available for pre-order the same day, awesome right ?!

Diagram of iPhone 5 Internal Parts Leaked on the Internet [Images]

It has been a wild ride for the iPhone 5 rumors. There have been numerous leaks of internal and external parts, and confirmation for multiple sources suggests that they do hold some value.
Well, if you still think otherwise, we have news for you! The diagram below shows that many of the previously leaked parts of the upcoming iPhone fits perfectly in the recently-leaked motherboard.
This diagram has been created by the experts, iFixYouri. 9to5mac reported this diagram, as they have been leading the pack for leaked parts since they published the back covers photos back in May. Here’s a report from them:
“iFixYouri Professional iPhone repair has put together a diagram (shown above) that puts many of the next-generation iPhone’s leaked parts into context…

..One of the biggest points to note is that many of these leaked parts fitting together nicely on the motherboard (obviously, image size aside) probably means that these parts are legitimate.”
Despite so much evidence, people are still not convinced about the legitimacy of these components. This time around, the leaked parts has been so large in number, if you count out the iPhone 4, that people are wondering how this is possible as Apple is a company that is pretty much strict about secrecy.
iPhone 5 Diagram
However, these parts are not coming out of Cupertino, where there are strict security measures with cameras and all. They are being leaked out from a place where the company hasn’t much control, the supply chain. The supply chain consists of many component manufacturers, with a large list of employees. The employees are underpaid, and they are offered a good sum of money by third parties and case manufacturers for leaking out parts for the fruit company’s products.
If you are still not sure, Don Lehman points out that creating an elaborate device would require the same effort and design that goes into making an actual smartphone. However, as always, there is nothing that is certain. No one knows the real shape of the next-generation iPhone.
However, we will get to know at the September 12th media which is just a month away. However, these leaks provide a good idea of the design and features of the upcoming iPhone. Feel free to comment!

Lenovo’s Windows RT Tablet Will be an ARM Version of the IdeaPad Yoga

Remember the Lenovo Yoga tablet? Shown early this year at CES 2012, this tablet with a rotating mechanism will now get a Windows RT version, so it will be based on ARM technology. The original Yoga was a Windows 8 version, but this time instead of the Intel Core i5 chip it will adopt the Tegra 3 CPU.
This means that Lenovo is set on launching two editions of the Yoga tablet, with the Nvidia one offering double the battery life of the Intel version. ABC News claims that the tablet will hit the market around the same time as the Windows 8 one, so around the end of October. During a Lenovo event last week, the company hinted at a Win RT product, but didn’t provide further information. The IdeaPad Yoga was a convertible ultrabook with Intel’s ULC Core processors and able to function as a normal laptop, but it will turn into a tablet when the screen is folded backwards.
The Intel version is rumored to cost a hefty $1800, while the Tegra one will most likely cost less. ASUS is also working on a similar product format called the TAICHI, unveiled at Computex 2012 in June. TAICHI has dual 13.3 inch and 11.6 inch displays and an Intel Ivy Bridge CPU. Both displays offer Full HD resolution.

Barnes & Noble cuts prices on Nook Tablet and Nook Color

Barnes & Noble has been making its Nook line of eReaders for a while now. Yesterday Barnes & Noble announced it was cutting prices on two of its most popular Nook products. Both the Nook Tablet and the Nook Color have had prices reduced to their lowest point since the launch of the devices. The new prices are good at all 700 nationwide stores and online.

The Nook Tablet is now available for $179 with the Nook Color going for $149. The Nook Tablet with 8 GB of storage is available for $179 with the 16 GB version going for $199. The Tablet offers access to more than 2.5 million digital book titles in addition to popular movies, TV shows, music, and more. The tablet has a seven-inch screen designed for reading books, magazines, and other content.
When the Nook Tablet launched back in February, the 8 GB version was $199. A $20 price cut could push consumers to buy the Nook Tablet rather than competing products such as the Kindle Fire and other cheap, under $200 Android tablets on the market today. Barnes & Noble last cut the price of the Nook Color in February when it moved to $169.
Other than price cuts, the hardware inside the Nook Tablet and Nook Color remain the same. The 8 GB version of the tablet has 512 MB RAM. Rumors continue to circulate that Apple is working on a smaller version of the iPad dubbed iPad mini. The launch of a cheaper and smaller iPad could have a significant impact on the budget tablet market, forcing prices even lower.

Samsung CDMA 4G LTE Galaxy Tab 10.1 Goes Through Teardown

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has been the most talked about Android tablet over the past year, being the device that sparked the lawsuit between Apple and Samsung. Now the tablet gets a fresh version, one that’s CDMA LTE compatible and has been recently torn down to check out its insides. The result was the following set of pictures.
Inside we’ve got the same Nvidia Tegra 2 chipset, flash memory from Sandisk and SDRAM from Samsung. The specs should remain the same, aside from the bump in connectivity nothing is truly different. I would have also liked a bigger and better battery on this model, since LTE will drain it, but that’s unlikely. From what I can see here this device fits the original Galaxy Tab 10.1 design, not the one changed to fit Apple’s requirements of not breaching design patents.
You can tell by the lack of speakers on the sides and the placement of the Samsung logo. Is anyone actually interested in this Tegra 2 LTE device, when we’ve got the quad core Exynos Galaxy Note 10.1 just launched with stylus and lots of yummy apps?
