Like with the current iPhone 7 phones, the added RAM in the iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X models is required to process data from its dual-camera system. As the regular iPhone 8 model is expected to have one camera out the back, it won’t need extra RAM.
It’s also important to note that increasing the RAM puts an additional burden on the battery.

iPhone X
I’ve never liked iPhones with white bezels. If you’re like me, you’ve probably stayed away from silver and gold casings—even if you really love them—due to their unappealing white front.
With iPhone X, you won’t have to.
According to respected Apple analyst Ming Chi-Kuo of KGI Securities, all iPhone X color options may come with a black faceplate to ensure “better aesthetic design.” If true, this will be a major departure from prior gold and silver casings that are only available with a white faceplate.
Painting the face of Apple’s upcoming flagship phone all black makes sense considering all the talk about that cutout at the top of the OLED display (or the notch, as it’s called).
In case you’ve been sleeping under a rock the whole summer, the notch is where the front-facing camera, the proximity and ambient light sensors and the new 3D camera sensor will be crammed into because Apple has been unable to hide those parts underneath the display itself.
How apps might embrace the notch concept via Max Rudberg
In his report to clients, obtained by MacRumors, the analyst predicted that all iPhone X colorways—Silver, Black and the new Blush Gold—would come with a front black-coating glass.
“This is in order to conceal the structured light transmitter and receiver, proximity sensor and ambient light sensor for better aesthetic design,” he speculated.
Aside from hiding the notch, which on a white faceplate would stick out like a fly on the weeding cake, I think an all-black face will look just gorgeous on a gold casing.
The report dropped last Saturday but we didn’t want to let it go unnoticed because we think it’s a pretty huge deal that Apple is finally getting rid of white bezels on iPhones .
