Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Banned In The US After Court Ruling

Apple and Samsung have been engaged in a number of court cases around the world, last week a court in the Netherlands ordered Apple to pay Samsung damages after Apple’s iPhone and iPad were found to infringe on one of Samsung’s 3G patents.
Now it is Samsungs turn as a US court has decided to ban sales of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the US, the decision was handed down by US district judge Lucy Koh, who had the following to say about Samsung’s tablet.
Galaxy Tab 10.1
Although Samsung has a right to compete, it does not have a right to compete unfairly by flooding the market with infringing products, while Samsung will certainly suffer lost sales from the issuance of an injunction, the hardship to Apple of having to directly compete with Samsung’s infringing products outweighs Samsung’s harm in light of the previous findings by the Court.
This is just a preliminary injunction at the moment, and Samsung will no doubt appeal the decision, in the meantime this is not good news for Samsung, the court order will come into effect as soon as Apple posts a $2.6 million bond.
