The 7.85 inch iPad rumor has been gaining some steam as of late and possibility of a smaller version of iPad aka “iPad Mini” to hit the public seems like to be a reasonable reality. Today, John Gruber of Daring Fireball has even added a little more gas to the snowballing mini iPad rumor. In a recent podcast, John Gruber states that their is existence of 7.85 inch iPad running 1024 x 768.
John Gruber latest comments:
“What I do know is that they have one in the lab, a 7.85″ iPad that runs at 1024 x 768. And it’s just like the 9.7-inch iPad shrunk down a little bit. The apps wouldn’t need to be redesigned or recompiled to work on it — it’s just the iPad smaller.”
Gruber is known to have well connected sources in Apple and play with new Apple product be they hit the public. Keep in mind that this is a prototype is in Apple’s lab and has been only confirmed as that. The 7.85 1024×768 display is perfect for all Apps that are currently available in the App Store right now making it a breath of fresh air to iOS developers because there’s no need of optimization their Apps for an iPad with 1024×768 iPad.
